Inspired by my lovely friend Naomi from Seven Cherubs, I share my 30 days of Happiness. A simple project recording and reflecting on something that brought me happiness each day for 30 days......
Sunday 10th April - Listening to these words today was the perfect inspiration for me. The words of this man always are. I love the feeling in our home when Chad and I are surrounded by our little ones listening to general conference (in our pajamas ;) especially for the few moments the kids are all quiet at the same time :) Also loved little hands being kept busy making sushi for lunch!!
Monday 11th - Happiness today was having a few hours to myself at home then going out to lunch with visiting family. I am so grateful for the bond that is family and the realness of the relationships. Oh and the food. Food makes me SO happy. Especially {more} sushi and crabs both of which were present where we ate!!!
Tuesday 12th - Loved spending the morning at centenary park today. Picnicing, riding bikes, park playing and gaming. We finished the day with kinda gym and milkshakes at another park. Days like this where we're out and about soaking up the sunshine gives me such a feeling of contentment and I'm so thankful that Chad will take a day off work just to spend it with us.
Wednesday 13th - Sitting in the doctors office with Jasmin today seeing her beautiful little face looking up at me with the sweetest smile made my heart feel full. I am thankful beyond words to be a mother and that I have 4 beautiful little souls I get to see smile everyday.
Thursday 14th - Pegging out the washing with the sun shining on my face made me appreciate the warmth after a chilly Sydney morning. Oh how I love the {almost} winter sun.
Friday 15th - Sometimes all it takes is a hug and kiss to be reminded just how sweet life is.
Saturday 16th - Spending the morning with wonderful friends was a reminder of how blessed I am to be surrounded by the women that fill my life. Smart, funny, beautiful, inspiring souls. My life is enriched beyond words because of the friendships I have with woman such as this. (It also made me happy that Chad took the kids to the markets to buy our fruit and vegies while I was out and I laughed when I saw Lily emerge from the car all dressed up in her best church dress! so funny)!
Sunday 17th - Holding back the tears as I sat in this beautiful fireside tonight and listened to the songs that really do make up my life in one way or another. Words that represent who I am. Words that touched and lifted my spirit and words that show so evidently that 'He' knows me, perfectly.
Monday 18th - Another year older. Another year of things to be grateful for. Today I am especially thankful for being treated like a {queen} for the day and having those around me fufil the desires of my heart. Even just the little ones like gourmet open grill focaccias for dinner and a new gorgeous wooden tree to hang my Easter eggs on.
Tuesday 19th - 3 sleeping children in the car with heads all tilting in the same direction made my heart smile. I know I say this often, but they really are growing SO fast. I miss their little-ness but also LOVE their now-ness. I imagine it will always be this way.
Wednesday 20th - I'm grateful today for music that motivates me to keep running when all I really want to do is stop.
Thursday 21st - This face.....
The happiness a baby brings into a home is nothing short of magical. This little girl of mine is a daily sorce of happiness for me and a constant reminder of the goodness of life!!
Friday 22nd - Such happiness and hugs of delight as our family arrived from QLD to spend 5 days of EAster with us!!!!!
Saturday 23rd - Today we celebrated the day of birth for the man I love. Markets, gaming, delicious food and movies. The perfect way to help him celebrate.
Sunday 24th - Aside from the Easter egg hunting and our traditional last supper dinner, relflecting on what Easter really means made me grateful beyond words that because of Him, we too will live again.
Monday 25th - Easter treats carefully prepared and dvds shared with lovely neighbours. Such a wonderful feeling is had when such goodness is exchanged. And I know painting eggs is not the most significant Easter tradition.....but oh how I love it. The calming motion of the brush as it moves across the curved surface. Patterns formed and then painted over by little 'helpful' hands :). So therapeutic and enjoyable. My favourite egg this year was the beautiful sunset Chad painted for me. So representative of the beauty that comes with Easter Monday.
Tuesday 26th - Games games and more games! Qwirkle, today you were mine!! Don't we always love games when we win them ;) If you happen to be an Aston, you will understand exactly what I mean ;)
Wednesday 27th - After a somewhat 'character building' afternoon let's call it ;) I loved hearing the kids squeal in delight at the double rainbow gracefully stetching across the sky infront of our house. It was a beautiful and timely reminder that there is always 'sunshine after the rain'. A reminder that without the rain in the first place, there would be no beauty to behold once the rain has past.
Thursday 28th - Seeing big brothers care for little sisters when they are upset brings such happiness to me. Such a beautiful moment of love captured between a brother and his sister.
Friday 29th - 'Just because' I love you flowers picked from my 9 year old from the garden. Instant happiness.
Saturday 30th - Oh there is such delight in cooking with delicious food straight from the garden! Who knew such happiness could come from home grown goodness.
Sunday 1st April - The first Sunday of the month. The day that brings such warmth to my soul, even just for the few minutes that we share our feelings together. And even though some of those feelings were rather excited in delivery, there was lots of love shared and that is the point!!
Monday 2nd - Being out and about with my little ones in nature brings a contentment that is hard to rival. I can't express the happiness I feel seeing them run around Chad and I in wide open spaces and how much I love reflecting on it!!
Tuesday 3rd - Oh ikea you were more than enough for me today :)
Wednesday 4th - SO so thankful that even though we arrived for Rylan's piano exam on the wrong day (don't even ask :) somehow they managed to fit us in (a small miracle I tell you) and the look on his face when he came out and opened his results was pure delight. A face I will not forget and a feeling I hope he doesn't forget.
Thursday 5th - Sharing a spontaneous moment with Chad that had me crying in laughter.....
Friday 6th - Instant serendipity when the box left at the front door is turned into a 'secret cubby house' built to share with one little sister and special toys. It really is the little things isn't it!!!
Saturday 7th - Dating Chad and talking about things that really matter. Nights like this are a beautiful reminder of why we became 'us' in the first place.
Sunday 8th - Laying in bed being showered with mothers day kindness was lovely! I can't express how much I love home made cards and 'treasures' from the school mothers day stall that my kids buy because they know "I'll just LOOVVEE it" ;)
Monday 9th - A visit to the gym. Immediate happiness!
Tuesday 10th - Autumn leaves adorning our streets oh how I love thee. Despite the fact that I am NOT a cold weather girl, the beauty of this season makes me happy. I love the changing rustic colours around me and the beautiful, sometimes intricate frames of trees exposed as leaves gently fall to the ground.
