family additions.......

So this is kind of how it played out:

Chad: I was thinking we should get guinea pigs for the boys........what do you think???

Me: yeah I guess so (thinking he meant somewhere 'down the track'........like a few years away.........

Chad: Boys, let's go get some guinea pigs.......WAHOO!!

Boys all start cheering together and screaming with joy, yelling out possible names for the guineas they will choose and what colour ones they want........

OK so maybe it wasn't quite like that. but pretty much.

And now due to that little conversation and outburst of glee we are the 'proud' owners of two little 4 week old guinny pigs.

they're pretty cute aren't they.........

SO here are the newest members of our family (until July that is :).......

Blackie-dude. chosen and named by Rylan.....

and Darwin. Name inspired by G-force. chosen by Zahn. I thought Zahnny-pig was a good name for this one because they have the same colour hair, but Zahn wasn't having a bar of it! "the name's darwin mum"!! and so it is......

The boys spent Saturday morning buying supplies and building a little home for their new pets. talk about being excited!!!!

It was a huge buzz watching them choose their guineas and listening to the exciting process of name choosing.

the ride home......

If the kids weren't so excited about their new pets it could have been easy to retract my "yeah i guess so" comment about getting them.....but they love them......and so they're here to stay.

Now i just have to try really hard to 'bond' with them and try and forget about the fact that they are cousins with the rat (aaaaahhhhhh shudder :)

I thought you would have wanted to call it "Hogster" Zahn hahaha. You'll have to show it some of your best moves! Blacky-dude sounds like one cool pig Ry!

We have 2 also....they've been in the family for quite sometime, thankfully I don't have to feed or even clean them. The boys took real ownership which is lucky & they are fed 'most' mornings - haha. We also have 6 fish and a dog! Things we do huh!

Not in my house they look to much like rats. I will stick to dogs. But congrats kids. If we ever got any I am sure Bodga would eat them. mmm better not get any.
